Technical & On-Page SEO

The website half of local SEO — crawlability, mobile-first speed, honest location and service pages, and the on-page fundamentals local sites keep getting wrong.

Local SEO has two halves, and most advice only talks about one. The Business Profile half gets the attention, but the website half — crawlable pages, sensible URL structure, titles that say where and what you are, mobile experience that doesn’t bleed customers, LocalBusiness structured data done correctly — determines whether Google can even understand your service area, and whether the organic results beneath the local pack send you anyone.

This cluster covers the site-side fundamentals: on-page signals for local relevance, the honest way to build service and location pages (and the doorway-page line you must not cross), schema markup, speed budgets that actually move UX, indexing hygiene, and the redirects/canonicals that quietly go wrong after every migration.

It’s the least glamorous cluster and the one where the fixes are most durable. A technically sound local site with accurate content stays sound; yesterday’s link scheme does not.

Start with: Local technical SEO & on-page: the site-side checklist — then run your site through the technical sections of the audit checklist. If you operate several locations, continue with the multi-location guide.
